Jenna Bush’s Wild West Wedding!

Howdy! Sue here with my TWIST (The Way I See Things!)

jenna-bush.jpgTalk about extremes! Jenna Bush had her choice between a lavish White House wedding in Washington, DC and an intimate, little affair in dusty, distant Crawford, TX. She picked the Southwest location, and I’m not sure exactly what that says about her. Clearly, she’s not pretentious. I don’t think I could have passed up an opportunity to be married in the White House, making me eligible to become a member of a small group almost as select as astronauts who have walked on on the moon. I guess when you’ve lived on and off for eight years on the second floor of the most famous house on the planet, it’s not such a big deal. So we’re all not invited on May 10, 2008.

Let’s check out the Crawford, TX dwelling–also known as the ”Southwest Wing”–to see how it affects the wedding planning in everything from the ambience to the wedding favors:

bush1.jpgDownhome, modest and homey. Unfortunately, the photo on the left was the only photo I could find to give you a peek at the interior. And we don’t know yet where the ceremony and reception is going to be held–both inside, both outside or one inside and the other outside. Whichever way they decide to go with that, we do know for sure that some wedding accessories and wedding favors will work better in this environment than others. So here we go!

patriotic-garter.jpg I’ve found her the perfect veil and garter, as you can see to the left and right!cowboyhatveil1.gif I’m sure both will go with any gown and shoes Jenna will pick out. Needless to say, I can’t speak for Jenna, but if I were having my wedding on that big ol’ ranch, I’d make the reception a fabulous barbeque with all the trimmings! Texas toast, brunswick stew, pulled pork, brisket, chicken, tater salad, cole slaw, corn on the cob, watermelon. Mmmmmmm.

Enough about the catering. Let’s talk wedding favors! We can actually match the hat on the left with these cool ”Cowboy Boot“ place card holders. Since Jenna’s wedding is in a state famous for its flora and fauna, I thought these adorable, pink ”Floating Butterfly“ tea lights might make a terrific “thank you” gift for her guests.

weddingpoppers.jpggardengelcandlerosem1.jpgIn the end, the most fun favor might be these “Have a Blast!” Wedding Poppers that launch biodegradable tissue confetti as she runs from the reception to the limo waiting to whisk the happy couple away to their honeymoon. But if she wants to bring just a touch of the White House, may I suggest these lovely “Rose Garden” Gel Candles?” That way, she can have the very best of both worlds! My congratulations to the happy couple!
