Just in case you haven’t noticed, My Wedding Favors has launched a new section on our website to help you save big bucks on your big day, including wedding favors and other items. It’s called the Daily Good Buy.
Featuring one red-hot deal, we’re slashing the price on a single item for the entire day. That’s right! You’ve got exactly 24 hours to take advantage of that deal before it’s gone–hence the name Daily Good Buy (Goodbye). There’s even a handy clock to count down the time left to make your purchase.
Yesterday, we offered the “Let Me Count The Ways” heart-shaped calculator, and a lot of brides took advantage of that great deal. (You can still get some, if you like, at the regular price.) Today, we’re offering one of our silver wedding favors on special. For the rest of the day, you can purchase the “Love’s Journey” Antique Pewter Getaway Car Place Card Holder for the ridiculously low price of .89¢ each. They’re regularly $2.48 each. Now, that’s a Daily Good Buy! You’d better get it before it’s gone!
And, check back each day to see what other special item we’re offering at a huge discount. You’ll find the special on the homepage under the Daily Deal tab.

You’re right in the middle of the happiest moment in your life—and then this…
If nothing else, this video underscores two things: 1) the importance of brushing and flossing and 2) the potential dangers of videotaping your wedding ceremony. If something bizarre like this happens at your wedding ceremony, you can make your wedding guests forget about it quickly with unforgettable wedding favors. I recommend wedding favor boxes filled with something chewy, sweet and yummy, like jelly beans. Here are three fantastic favor boxes that will instantly take your guests’ minds of your faux pas:

Here we go again. Yet another store is getting into the wedding planning business. And this time it’s a grocery store. If you live in the Midwest, you’re pretty familiar with Safeway stores and will most likely be happy with this new resource.
SAME STUFF, NEW TWIST
While it’s nothing new for a grocery store to carry wedding cakes, it is something new entirely for them to add flowers to their selection (other than the quick-pick bouquets and plants you get for last-minute gifts) and highlight their ample selection of wines and champagnes for the receptions in one snazzy site. Yes, everything from cakes to boutonnieres can be purchased, not only in the store, but online. It’s launch raises their wedding planning to a whole new level, as the site even offers a budget calculator to keep brides on track.
WHAT’S NOT ON THE SHELF AT THIS GROCERY STORE?
If you’re taking your wedding wish list to Safeway, you’ll find that there are few things that you won’t be able to mark off your list, like unique wedding favors and bridesmaids gifts.
For that, you’ll need to come on over to My Wedding Favors. We’ve got a great selection of themed wedding favors that can really capture the mood of your special day. Take this set of bamboo coasters, for example. They’re eco-friendly and perfect for beach and outdoor weddings. Whether you’re planning a beach wedding or not, this stylish monogrammed tote bag makes an excellent gift for your bridesmaids. Fill it with beauty essentials or use it as a welcome bag. Either way, they’ll love it!
By the way, when it’s time to dress up that delicious cake from Safeway, you can browse our selection of engraved, monogrammed or figurine wedding cake toppers. This is just one of the many styles to choose from.

Everybody knows that when times are tight, it impacts almost every area of our society–and weddings are no exception. Although they have remained virtually recession proof, the economy of recent years has begun to chip away at the seemingly impenetrable market. According to a new survey performed by David’s Bridal, 75% of brides-to-be admit that they will have to make adjustments to their wedding budget as a result of the economic climate. What are the first areas to feel the axe? The number of guests and the wedding cuisine are the areas first looked at when trimming the budget. You might even have to consider a discount instead of a designer gown. But before you do, check out this great article on ways to save on your wedding gown.
Practicality is becoming a prerequisite for wedding planning, as many brides choose “paying off debt” over an indulgent day–even if it is their wedding. But don’t worry. There are plenty of ways to save money without sacrificing the style and quality you’ve dreamed of. One great way is with do-it-yourself wedding favors. Fabulous packaging can really dress up your favorite treats and your table if you use them as a part of your place setting or as place card holders. They save time too, with quick assembly and no-fuss fillers like Jordan almonds and personalized chocolates.

Well, I never would have thought it, but it seems as though a “new and improved” woman is on the way.
Thanks to a Canadian man, this female robot named Aiko could soon be the wave of the future. It began with a quest to build the “perfect woman.” Now, two years and $21,000 later, some say that he has come pretty close. She can read, carry on a conversation, give driving directions, keep your accounts straight, and clean house around the clock because she doesn’t need sleep. While she’s not made for sex (wonder how long it will be before she will have that nifty enhancement), she does a great job keeping you company.
Admittedly, she does appear a little rubbery. But, she’s actually not bad on the eyes, and I’m sure she never nags. The designer says that all she needs now is to lose that clunky C3PO walk, and she’ll be just like a real person. When she does, could this be the end to women as we know it? Will women made the old-fashioned way become passe’? Could this eventually lead to Wi-Fi weddings and close encounters of the robotic kind? Now that’s enough to send my computer chips into overload!
The plus side
Besides saving money on food and manicures, I’ll have to admit that there’s a big plus side to this whole thing, ladies. If men can build their idea of a perfect mate, then so can women! Why not build a man that’s smart, sexy, able to hold a steady job and that would be an absolute dream to live with? Heck, you could even include a program that makes him ask for directions! The possibilities could get quite interesting.
There’s just no substitute
Although robot romance may be a thing of the future, right now, there’s just no substitute for the real thing. And when you’ve found the right one, it creates a magic that no computer program can simulate. So if you’ve found the real thing, take it to the next level with a wedding that’s out of this world. All your dreams can come true as you plan your fairytale wedding. Filled with dreamy centerpieces and sparkling place card holders, it will truly be one enchanted evening!

Just think about all the time spent scouring through magazines, attending bridal shows, and performing endless internet searches. It’s obvious that brides are seeking ways to make their wedding different from the others they’ve seen. Amongst the sea of dresses, wedding favors and cakes, things can start to look mundane until you come across something really unique that catches your eye like nothing else has before. And, as far as nontraditional wedding bouquets go, this is it!
Dramatic, sensual and intriguing, these handmade feather bouquets from Emplume are the perfect solution for brides who are looking for something other than flowers to carry down the aisle. These non-floral, couture bouquets feature gorgeous feathers with elegant pearls, tassels, sparkling jewels and luxurious ribbon accents that add the finishing touch of beauty to each design. This one even includes preserved flowers. And because they are custom made, it’s easy to capture your color scheme or personality in the design.
Whether you’re having a retro wedding or you’re a fashion-forward bride with an eye for style, these bouquets might be just the extra touch you’ve been looking for. But don’t stop at the bouquet. With feathers, you can bring that same flair to the table with tall wedding centerpieces that feature elegant vases with plumes. And, of course, there must be a feather pen to sign the wedding guest book. Yes, your guests are sure to be flying high with the creative use of feathers at your wedding. So, you’d better keep them grounded with some personalized wedding favors. The pyramid monogrammed favors boxes are a beautiful way to dress up your sweet treats like Jordan almonds.

Doesn’t that eclair look marvelous!? What I wouldn’t give to enjoy one of those tasty treats without worrying about it going directly to my hips. Like so many of you, I have to watch what I eat, and these little beauties are definitely off my menu. Well, if you’re in the same boat as me or you’re just looking for something different to serve at your bridal shower, you’ll enjoy the new desserts from My Wedding Favors because they’re calorie free!
No, I’m talking about the latest fad diet food with those preposterous claims you hear about on late night television, like “Loose weight without exercising!” or “Drop five dress sizes in a month!” Unbelievable, right? But this one isn’t. At your next bridal shower (or other event), enjoy these deliciously different “desserts.” Not just for diabetics or the weight-conscious, these treats are to be enjoyed by all. Made of towels, these desserts won’t add a single pound because they are incredibly inedible but still a delight to the senses. Looking at these new favors is like sneaking a peak through the baker’s window! Can’t you just smell the aroma of a great gift in the air?
A Tasty Treat, Indeed!
One glimpse of this decadent strawberry shortcake favor will have your mouth watering! What a clever way to present a useful washcloth. And look, it even has a “strawberry” on top for the perfect finishing touch. Equally delicious-looking is the slice of pie favor. If lemon’s not your favorite, you can choose chocolate brown or strawberry pink. Either way, your guests will be pleasantly surprised to discover that they’ve been deceived by a dessert! Both favors are handmade and wrapped with all the special touches that make them look so realistic.
Super Size Your Dessert!
If you like your desserts big, you’d probably want to go with the chocolate cake favor. It’s made with a thick and thirsty hand towel that measures a whopping 13″ x 13″. Cleverly gift wrapped, it makes a great hostess gift. It’s available in vanilla, too!
Just think of these fabulous faux desserts as our way of looking out for your waistline! But if all of this talk of desserts has you wishing for the real thing, try one of our personalized chocolates or cookies. Because they’re bite size, I’m sure there are only a few calories in there. What the heck! Go ahead and enjoy…You’re getting married for goodness sake!

It seems an odd thing to go together–your wedding favors and your state’s personality traits. But it just may be a new way to choose your wedding favors. A recent study of over 600,000 participants from across the country provided some interesting facts about people’s personality based on the state in which they live, according to the Wall Street Journal report. Did you know that Floridians tend to be more conscientious while those from Kentucky are more neurotic and stressed out. Go figure! By state, they surmised the level of extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism and openness of its residents. Based on the study of the “Big Five” as they call them, psychologists were able to conclude all sorts of things including how this information impacts health and societal issues. But could it also impact your choice for wedding favors?
Well, at My Wedding Favors, we’ve developed our own little personality test that’s a great tool to help brides choose unique wedding favors. In a world where favors and personality tests collide, I thought it would be interesting to see what would happen if a bride chose her wedding favors based on the personality of the state she lived in rather than her own. Let’s take a quick look at the states that ranked #1 and which of our “personalities” they would probably be:
Guess which state has the most extroverted residents in the union? North Dakota. Yep. North Dakota. That surprised me too! Based on that, brides in North Dakota would have a “Lexi” personality–unique and free spirited. If you have a sense of individualism and the gusto to follow your dreams, you have a lot in common with the residents of North Dakota. Sounds like someone from California, doesn’t it? Actually, California ranked at #38.
If you’re from New Mexico, North Carolina or Georgia, you’re a part of the Conscientious Crowd! Those states ranked 1, 2 and 3 for being ethical, honest and moral. Someone with those enduring qualities would definitely be an “Elizabeth.” Classic and elegant with a timeless sense of style, that’s you!
Are you open to new ideas and look at the glass as half-full instead of half-empty? Then chances are you’re probably from Washington, DC, New York or Oregon. These top-ranked states for openess beat out a host of other states you would have thought to be open and optimistic. “Victoria” would be the personality that would feel right at home in these states. How about you?
Is there really a correlation between the personality traits of your state and the wedding favors you would choose? Probably not. But a great way to find the perfect favor boxes that truly reflect YOUR personality (and not your state’s) is to take the short My Wedding Favors Personality Quiz. Regardless of where you live, you can find just the right favor for you. To find out how your state ranks, click here.
From candles and coasters to bottle stoppers and spoons, there are so many great choices. Here are just a few:

Brides can enjoy a winter wonderland of wedding favors with these three new designs!
Always on the cutting edge of creativity and style, My Wedding Favors is proud to add the newest winter wedding favors from Kate Aspen to our already popular collection of winter wedding favors. Inspired by the snowflake, each design is the perfect complement to your winter wedding and reception.
Whether you use these Snow Flurry ornaments as decorations or as a winter wedding favor, they are sure to create a flurry of excitement. Each one is bursting with tiny snowballs inside the clear globe that is covered with a flocked snowflake pattern for a textured accent to your holiday decor. Put several of them in a bowl as a centerpiece or use them as place card holders to help guests find their seat at the table. Elegant and stylish, it’s no wonder why these are a popular choice.
Impressive on both sides, this Embossed Elegance snowflake favor box will be the delight of many holiday tables. A beautiful rendition of a stylized snowflake, it features an over-sized snowflake with embossed detail on each side of the favor box. A do-it-yourself wedding favor, it easily pops together and can be filled with a delicious treat or gift item. Like falling snow, create a winter wonderland cluster by standing them at varying heights as a centerpiece or place them individually at each setting. Either way, your table will be glistening with these bright white boxes.
Your guests don’t have to be avid readers to appreciate this unique wedding favor! The Snowflake bookmark with tassel is a stylish and practical way to thank your family and friends. It beautifully captures the coolness of winter in striking silver and ice blue that are subtle enough to blend with almost any color scheme. Already gift boxed and ready to go, they can easily be placed on a separate favor table for guests to pick up as they enter or leave the reception. But placing them at each place setting will warm your table with gratitude.
Check out these three new winter wedding favors as well as the other favors by season. Winter, spring, summer or fall, there are always elegant wedding favors to be found at My Wedding Favors!

Imagine not having any photos of your special day? Well, that’s what happened to Bette Midler. Whether it was by accident or the chapel decided to just hold on to them for publicity, she didn’t get them on her wedding day. Surprisingly, it took 23 years for multi-award winning singer and actress Bette Midler to receive wedding photos after her quickie wedding in Las Vegas in 1984. You would think that such a well-known star getting married by an Elvis impersonator would have no problems getting those shots. But somehow, they were “misplaced” and were just discovered while the owners were closing the Starlight Chapel’s doors for the last time. She says, “Three weeks ago the guy closed the chapel and sent us the pictures. We were so shocked.” I’m sure seeing the photos was like reliving that fun and fateful day all over again. Now, all she needs is a nice photo album! I must give kudos, though, to Midler and hubby Martin von Haselberg for outlasting most Hollywood couples, even after getting off to a sort of “wild and crazy” start! Better late than never… I suppose!
My advice to you is that if you’re planning a destination wedding to a place like Las Vegas (or any place for that matter), be sure to bring along one of these disposable wedding cameras. That way, you can snap all the pictures you want without having to wait 23 years to see them! Give one to the wedding witness (your pseudo bridesmaid), the lady on the organ and even the Elvis impersonator to be sure you don’t miss a thing. While you’re at it, you can also pass out these delightful Las Vegas themed wedding favors.
